Description
What is Arthys' Elemental Engine?
Arthys' Elemental Engine is a core library mod which handles elemental magic damage and resistance systems for my mods going forward. I made it so that I can consolidate each bugfix update related to elemental magic to one centered mod rather than fix each system and deal with the nightmare of balancing them over the course of multiple projects and hoping they synergize.
What does the engine do by itself?
By itself the mod adds an elemental damage stat for a specific element, for example, Fire. It will then take vanilla fire damage ticks and spawn particles whenever an entity is on fire, and deal the base vanilla damage + elemental damage. These values are configurable by gamerule, and the system can be disabled entirely if it is warranted.
Additionally, basic netherite gear has a built-in resistance to said magic damage of the fire type.
At launch, fire damage will be the only elemental damage type implemented to ensure effective synergy with Arthys' Ebonite and the vanilla experience, but as other mods of mine get released in the future OR by popular request, I will implement more types.
Where can I learn more or make my own mods compatible with these systems?
As of right now I am in the process of building a discord specifically for my own mods, which can be found here.
I will try to answer any questions I can about any of my mods, as well as building an information forum there if anyone needs it.
