This mod/datapack provides a thoughtfully rebalanced early-game and adds new QOL recipes (eg. craftable chainmail, tridents, bundles), all while respecting the vanilla progression loop.

Revamped Progression is a mod/datapack that rebalances the early-game of Minecraft, while adding many QOL progression-focused recipes.

Want to expand 1.20's new smithing template / armor trim system with Revamped Progression? Check out Reimagined Trims here - it's a standalone counterpart to Revamped Progression that overhauls smithing trim and upgrade template recipes.

Revamped Progression does not require modded Minecraft to function and can run on vanilla clients - it is only required to be installed as a mod (Fabric/Forge) or datapack (Vanilla) server-side.

Revamped Progression Features:

  • smelt rotten flesh into leather

  • stone tools require stone / deepslate to craft, not the cobbled versions

  • ores become nuggets in regular furnace

  • upgrade leather armour to chainmail (pre 1.20)

  • smithing tables can be crafted using copper ingots (1.16 requires iron nuggets), allowing early-game smithing upgrades (pre 1.20)

  • blast furnace recipe requires iron ingots with blocks of copper in place of smooth stone (1.17+)

  • ores become ingots in blast furnace

  • raw ore blocks become ingots in regular furnace (1.17+)

  • raw ore blocks become ore blocks in blast furnace (1.17+)

  • upgrade gold armour to iron in a smithing table using iron ingots, so all that gold and golden loot doesn't go to waste (pre 1.20)

  • cheaper chain recipe

  • chainmail armour recipe

  • new, thoughtfully balanced trident recipe

  • vanilla bundle recipe enabled, granting you access to the unreleased item

  • end stone can craft stone tools and furnaces

Host your own Server

If you're interested in playing Minecraft (with or without my mods) with your friends, I recommend you take a look at Kinetic Hosting!. For 5GB ram, they charge under $13USD a month for Performance, and under $6 for Budget, not including my discount code! I personally use their performance servers, and their specs, price, support and easy-to-use panel are the best of all the hosts I've been with. In addition, you can use code LEGACY for 15% off your first month!

More Info

Yes, I am partnered with them (and a member of their feedback team), but as an already-existing customer of them (and have paid and still pay for their servers myself), I can legitimately say they're great, regardless of whether I'm partnered with them. They're just genuinely good, I know the support team, they're super friendly and quick. The server specs are as good as you can get, and importantly, they aren't overpriced, unlike other hosts - in fact, they're less than half the price of quite a few big competitors I've seen around here, with no downside! If you need a server, these guys truly know what you're doing, and will respect your wallet when they do it. If you buy a server through my link, you even help support my work!

Kinetic Hosting - code LEGACY for 15% off!
