Adds a psychological horror experience that grows more intense the longer you play. Dread builds in the background, pulling you into custom liminal dimensions filled with atmosphere, creeping sounds, and things that only appear when you're not looking.

Description

Static Veil

Static Veil is a psychological horror mod that gets worse the longer you play. There's no jump scares, no boss fights — just a slow build of something being wrong.

The mod runs a dread system in the background. It tracks your playtime and starts introducing things gradually. Sounds without a source. Corridors that look slightly different than they did a minute ago. Things standing just at the edge of the dark that aren't there when you get closer.

When dread peaks, the game starts actively messing with you. Torches snuff themselves in a wave closing toward you. The screen distorts. You turn around and the hallway behind you is shorter than you left it.

Dimensions

At certain points you'll get pulled into one of several custom dimensions, each with its own feel:

The Backrooms — fluorescent halls, carpet, the hum of nothing Torch Maze — endless dark corridors, something slow and inevitable behind you Pale Depths — frozen, white, something standing very far away that doesn't move The Red — it doesn't end Cave System — deeper than it should be, the ceiling shifts when you're not ready Level Fun — bright yellow, cheerful music, a party that's been going for too long Escaping

Find a Veil Anchor to get out. They're not always close.

Singleplayer focused.
