Performance

macOS Metal Modpack brings up even the lowest end Macs to new heights, thanks to a bundle of carefully selected performance mods. At the heart of the modpack is Metallum, a mod that brings Apple's Metal rendering backend to Minecraft, drastically improving performance (twice as fast compared to OpenGL).

Fully client-sided with Multiplayer support

macOS Metal contains only performance mods, and doesn't interfere with vanilla Minecraft, meaning you can run macOS Metal on any server.

Compatibility

Metallum is in an experimental state. While it provides significant performance boosts, compatibility with other mods is not guaranteed. You can expect any mods that run under Vulkan to also run under Metal. Shaderpack support for Metal is in very early development, it is not expected to be released anytime soon.

Only Apple Silicon Macs are supported (M1 and newer)
