Description
What is Metal and Magic?
Metal and Magic is 1.20.1 modpack made for fighting with your friends. It contains both tech and magic mods for the player to enjoy.
These combination of mods were put together for the ulitmate war pack. Allowing users to pick up the weapons and spells that they want and fight it out in the battlefield. Alongside those mods is the create mod. This allows for the player to automate the creation of their ammo, weapons and other items that they might need to take down their foes.
Future Plans
The future of the pack is to make it more survival friendly. Having some new mods be added to improve the experience, like starter packs and crafting tweaks. Alonside some other mods to make the exploration and automations aspects of the mod more fun.
Other Things
There is a new version of create that has come out. But it causes a variety of problems with some of the other create based mods that are in the modpack. We will wait for a while before updating the create mod and other mods to make sure that the mods that we added all still work in the next version.
Server Info
I would reccomend between 4-6GB of ram on a server minimum, just because that is what I normally use and I don't have any problems when running the back. If anyone finds that It runs at lower amounts just get in contact and i'll change this.
How to put the modpack on a server
The first thing you want to do is download [mrpack4server](https://github.com/Patbox/mrpack4server/releases). Once downloaded, place it into a folder alongside the .mrpack that you get from downloading the modpack.Rename the .mrpack file to local.mrpack and right click on the file explorer background, dont right click any files, and click 'Open In Terminal' (you have to click 'show more options' on windows 11). Once command prompt has opened, type in this command.
java -jar mrpack4server.jar
and it should start downloading all of the neccesary files.
inside that folder, there will be a mods folder. GO in there and delete these mods, this will stop the server from crashing, due to these mods being client only, and won't load on a server and will cause it to crash.
I will give the start of the filename for the .jar file, and then the name of the mod that you will be deleting in brackets next to it.
- cwb-Forge (cubes without borders)
- oculus-mc (oculus)
- CraftPresence (Craft Presence)
- Zume (Zume)
Once that is done, package the selected folder to a zip, and upload that to the server.
