About

Description

I hate stutters of all kinds and minecraft for a very long time has been full of them.

So over the course of a couple years and a couple computers of varying specifications. Ive got to know what makes or breaks my framerate.

This modpack is a result of whats worked for me over the years.

This modpack doesn't add, remove or edit anything that alters visuals hence the name "Performance only". That stuff is all up to you!

Benchmarks with other modpacks

How I benchmarked:

Latest 1.21.11 pack available was chosen.

The modpacks were loaded on a seperate world that were traversed on for ~2 minutes then another world with the "fpstest" seed was loaded, teleported using "/tp @s 0 100 0 90 0" Waited for about a minute to warmup again. Then started moving forward also starting CapframeX's capture

Settings were the same across all modpacks (32-RD 8-Sim no DH, Voxy, vsync or fps cap)

Take these with a grain of salt every computer is different!!! Comparison between popular modpacks

My specs: RTX 4060TI ryzen 7600X 32gb ram (12gb allocated)

Versions <26.1 In minecraft versions below 26.1 the JVM chooses G1GC as the default garbage collector.

G1GC causes stutters due to it relying on pauses to garbage collect.

I would recommend adding these to your jvm Arguments (REQUIRES JDK 21+):

  • -XX:+UseZGC -XX:+ZGenerational

ZGC is the new default collector for minecraft versions 26.1 and up.
