Description

NOTE: For now you need to manually download the REQUIRED datapack (https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/data-packs/roguelike-mvp-datapack) and place it in your resources folder. I'm working with Curseforge on how to fix this issue. (Likely I'm just doing something dumb)

Thanks Curseforge for the update and for helping me out with my modpack!

This whole description is a work in-progress. This is an actually "playable" version of the pack and I wanted to share it with friends and everyone that has been accompanying the project, it's been a long ride but we're finally getting somewhere!

For the longest time I've wanted a Minecraft modpack that made exploration, building and combat a essential part of the game without it just being teleporting and elytra'ing everywhere but still didn't feel like a chore to move around. I needed a system with depth and yet I still wanted endgame content and all the magic and tech mods that I so love. So, over the years I took inspiration from a bunch of games, modpacks and whatever else I could find and made this modpack!

Right now:

You'll start the game in a new world with new npcs to talk to, follow their quests and explore the overworld for resources, gather soul energy and unlock new mods for you and your base to progress! Watch out though, the overworld is much harder than before, don't be too afraid though, dying is literally part of the process!

Poorly implemented features:

Multiple NPCs
Gameplay overworld loop
Mod unlocking and customization
Superflat Base building
Voice acted NPCs - (AI and not all chat lines yet)
Progressive Difficulty levels ARPG Style - Easy, Med, Hard, Merciless
Stat system!
Archetypes

Work in progress started but you know, will come whenever:

More dungeons (and mobs in those dungeons) - I'm trying to get at least a semblance of balance before opening these to all players
Shop NPCs - on the works!

Note for players:

If you're playing right now you're probably one of my friends, a tester or someone really fun and adventurous. There'll likely be a few reset requirements as the modpack updates and I'm still allowing most (apotheosis has been moved to the crafter npc) of the overpowered items (like ars nouveau healing spells) to be used for science reasons. Combat and the NPC system will suffer HEAVY, like incredibly HEAVY reworks but it's already a decently fun modpack, I might be playing it too much honestly. I hope you all have fun and I'm always open to feedback (it's likely I'm already planning to change whatever is bothering you though XD).

Some min-maxers want to know, so here it is, this is how stats work, it's likely that all of these will be rebalanced in the near future. This will also be added to the hints tab later:

Strength (STR): +0.5 Physical Attack, +0.5 Health
Vitality (VIT): +2 Health, +0.1 Armor Toughness
Dexterity (DEX):  +0.5 Projectile Damage, +3% Critical Strike Damage
Agility (AGI): +1% Rush* Speed, 0.5% Cast Time Reduction
Intelligence (INT): +2% Experience Gain, +0.5 Generic Spell Damage
Wisdom (WIS): +5 Maximum Mana, 0.1 Flat Magic Damage Reduction

*Rush is any movement action that happens while holding ctrl. Basically swimming and sprinting. It won't work for regular walk speed for example.

All the buildings in the set right now are lightly modified versions of KarelienYT's building. He's a great builder and deserves more views! You should check out his work!
