Modpack
Silver Age+
No reviews yet
A modpack resembling the early release era of Minecraft, with a few extra additions.
Includes a little of everything without sticking to any one particular type of gameplay or style.
Fabric is a mod loader for versions 1.14+ of Minecraft, particularly popular for client side and optimization mods.

Description

Silver Age+ changes the look and feel of Minecraft to closely match the 1.2-1.6 era, which many describe as the "Silver Age" (taking place after the Golden Age). There are also a few other quality-of-life mods that I like which are also part of the modpack.
Main Mods
The base mods included are mainly to make subtle changes so the game feels more like older versions. These include: Moderner Beta (to get the 1.6 world gen), Combat Control (to remove the cooldown), YellowText for buttons, and Legacy Potion Colors. I also included a data pack I made which changes crafting recipes for beds.
Extra Mods
Other mods included are for performace, entity customization, and QoL changes. For example, Sodium, Better Block Entities, and Particle Core are all for performance. Continuity, Iris Shaders, EMF/ETF, and Zoomify are extra OptiFine-like mods. I refrained from adding mods like Appleskin and Voxy, so the game can be mostly vanilla-based. Players can install other mods on their own if they wish.
Resource Packs
I wanted to add as many details as I could with the SAGE+ resource pack, including the darker tall grass, old door sounds, and bright-blue water. Two other resource packs, Programmer Art Fix by THGABS and Unrandom Textures by Selah are included to make the game almost identical to Minecraft 1.6's look and feel.
Future Plans
- Add old achievements back. My plan is to have all the current advancements combined with the classic ones. That's 20 extra achievements to figure out how to add!
- Find or make a resource pack that adds the old horse models back. Those were good!
- Continue to rename items back to their original names during the Silver Age, unless they need to be kept for accessibility reasons.
- 26.2+ versions, whenever the mods get updated. I believe all the mods included in Silver Age+ are needed for the best experience. The modpack will stay on its respective Minecraft versions (1.21.11 and 26.1.2) until I'm positive that it's fully working for future versions.
Further Info
This is a modpack I made originally for myself to see how far I could go to make Minecraft actively feel like 1.6.4. A big hurdle was trying to find mods in place of Nostalgic Tweaks, which hasn't been updated in a while. I wanted to put in as many details as I could to have the game resemble that era.
After a while, I decided that I wanted to share with others. So I hope whoever finds this enjoys the modpack. And to whoever started their Minecraft journey during the Silver Age like me, I hope you have a nostalgic experience. :)
I will be updating this modpack as I see fit as time goes on. I'll probably make a trailer in the future.
In the meantime, Please report any issues to https://github.com/gameo7/silver-age-plus/issues.
