Description

Do you think... those who are gone could still dream?...This? No, these are not tears. Perhaps a little ash found its way into my eyes.Lately, I have often dreamed of you—and of all the others.

I once thought that after death, there would be no more tears.
One of us becoming a star is enough. Let that one be me.
So these cannot be tears.

And yet I still dream of the days when we stood side by side—days so brief, and yet so full of happiness.If I still remember them so clearly, how could I truly have no tears left to shed?But in the end, a dream is only a dream... isn't it?

During your first few nights in this world, whenever sleep takes you, you sense something stirring within—as though an old friend has been returning to your dreams, again and again.

And sure enough, your instincts have never failed you.

When you awaken, you find yourself gazing thoughtfully at the little white flower that has appeared in your hand without explanation.

Perhaps it was a gift from her.

Tears,star...

There are not many things in this world that may truly be called tears, also for the star.

You do not seem surprised by the return of this old friend. And yet, no matter how hard you try, you cannot remember who she was.

Perhaps you no longer remember her.

But she has never forgotten you.

“I want to see a sea of flowers surge across the land—
spilling over cliffs and through valleys...
until the day they bloom across the whole earth.”

That is all you remember: once, she seemed to have longed for such a future.

Following the clues she left within those words, you decide to arrange what she placed in your hands, together with the other things she spoke of, in a particular order.

As something begins to take shape before you, a faint trace of relief appears in your eyes...

Along with something else—something you cannot quite name.

“I will always stay by your side, just as I once promised.”

“The future reflected in your eyes is worth every risk we must take.”

A Wish Yet to Bloom is a narrative-driven Fabric mod centered on dreams, memory, Summer Snow Grass, and a unique sword that recognizes and grows alongside its owner.

Dreams and Summer Snow Grass

During each of your first five valid sleeps, you awaken with a Summer Snow Grass and a short memory from someone who is no longer there.

These flowers are more than ordinary crafting materials. Each one remembers:

  • who received it;
  • which memory it represents;
  • whether it was legitimately granted through sleep.

Only legitimate Summer Snow Grass received from these dreams can be used to forge the sword.

The Wishbound Sword

After experiencing all five sleep memories, four Summer Snow Grass can be combined with Ghast Tears and a Nether Star to forge a unique wishbound sword.

The crafting arrangement is intentionally hinted at through the mod's narrative rather than presented as a conventional recipe-book entry.

Once forged, the sword:

  • recognizes a single owner;
  • can only be crafted once by each player;
  • displays different information to its owner and to other players;
  • grows stronger through combat;
  • changes its name and narrative as it reaches new milestones;
  • presents each new memory through a centered narrative HUD.

The sword begins quietly, carrying only fragments of an unfinished wish. As its owner continues forward, its damage, identity, and story gradually change.

A Flower Left Behind

Five Summer Snow Grass are received, but only four are required for the sword.

The final flower can be planted as a living keepsake. Planted Summer Snow Grass can spread naturally into small white flower patches, but spread flowers cannot be harvested or used to bypass the original sleep progression.

Main Features

  • Five narrative sleep memories
  • Summer Snow Grass with player and memory provenance
  • A restricted, narrative-gated crafting ritual
  • One wishbound sword per player
  • Owner-aware sword behavior and presentation
  • Seven combat growth milestones
  • Evolving sword names, descriptions, and attributes
  • Custom sleep and weapon-growth narrative HUD
  • Custom item and planted-flower artwork
  • Persistent progression across world restarts
  • Multiplayer-safe ownership and narrative isolation
  • Dedicated-server support

Requirements

  • Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1
  • Fabric Loader
  • Fabric API
  • Java 21

This release is made for Fabric on Minecraft 1.21.1. Other Minecraft versions and mod loaders are not currently supported.

Important Notes

  • Use a regular 3×3 crafting table when forging the sword.
  • Flowers created through natural spreading are decorative descendants and are not valid ritual ingredients.
  • The ritual recipe may not appear as an ordinary recipe-book recipe.
  • Existing worlds created with early private development builds may not safely preserve obsolete item registry IDs. Back up important worlds before changing versions.
