Abyssus is watching. It stands in daylight, silent, patient — you'll catch it staring, gone before you blink twice. At night it stops hiding. A shape that shouldn't move the way it moves. It doesn't want to kill you quickly — it feeds on the fear first.

About

Description

During the day, Abyssus keeps its distance. It appears somewhere in view, still and watching, and vanishes before you can close the gap. Get too close, and it’s gone. You won’t summon it, provoke it, or fight it — you can only notice it.

At night, it stops pretending. Most of its nightly appearances end the same way: it closes the distance, touches you, and disappears — leaving you half-blind for the next 30 seconds, heart pounding over nothing you can point to. But not every encounter is a bluff. Once in a while, the thing that reaches you doesn’t stop. It hunts. It keeps coming until it kills you, or until you genuinely lose it — and it will search for a long time before it gives up.

You’ll never know, in the moment, which one this is.

Features:

• A fully scripted encounter system — Abyssus appears on its own; you never need to summon it

• Distinct day and night behavior, with escalating threat after dark

• A single, deliberate audio cue tied to its presence — nothing else competes for your attention

• Custom model and texture — gaunt, asymmetric, deliberately unsettling

• Invulnerable and unpushable — this is not a mob you fight, only survive

Requirements: Minecraft 1.20.1, Minecraft Forge 47.x, Java 17.

This mod is designed around dread, not jump scares stacked on jump scares. If you’re the type who checks over your shoulder in a dark forest for no reason — you were right to.
