Description
🎭 AccountLarp
Your account. Your costume. Your client.

Some days you are not the name above your head.
AccountLarp is a small client-side Fabric mod for trying on a different role: choose a local display name, pick from Minecraft's cape collection, and let your own client play along. It is a private illusion—servers and other players still see the real account behind the mask.
✦ Put on the mask
| Your stage | Your costume |
|---|---|
| Local display name | Replaces your own account name wherever vanilla text is shown on your client. |
| Minecraft capes | Browse the discovered Mojang cape catalogue and wear one locally. |
✦ A private illusion
AccountLarp only changes what you see. Your real Minecraft account, UUID, chat identity, server permissions, and appearance for every other player remain untouched.
The display-name replacement is applied throughout Minecraft's regular text-rendering paths—chat, scoreboards, name tags, books, signs, text displays, tooltips, and more—while keeping their colours and formatting intact.
✦ Start the act
- Install Fabric API alongside AccountLarp.
- Enter a world and press
O, or open AccountLarp through Mod Menu. - Write the name you want to see, then browse left and right for a cape.
- Press Done. Reset at any time with the trash icon.
The cape catalogue is refreshed in the background and cached in your config folder, so recently discovered capes remain available offline.
✦ Behind the curtain
Cape names are discovered from NameMC's public cape overview; the cape textures themselves are loaded from Mojang's texture service.
