ActualPortals

Nether portals show what's actually on the other side. Instead of a purple swirl you see the destination dimension through the opening — terrain, mobs, flowing lava, the correct time of day — rendered live from your point of view. Walking through is seamless: no loading screen, no flash, no camera snap. You keep your momentum and just step into the other dimension.

Inspired by Immersive Portals, built for modern Minecraft.

Features

  • See the destination dimension through any nether portal, live.
  • Walk through portals seamlessly, in both directions.
  • Interact through the opening: break and place blocks, use levers and chests, hit mobs on the other side.
  • Mobs, items and projectiles travel through portals too, keeping their momentum.
  • Multiple portals in view each render their own destination.

Notes

  • Requires CodxLib.
  • The see-through view works in single-player. Seamless travel works everywhere.
  • Vanilla portal linking is unchanged — only how travel looks and feels.
  • Shader packs are untested and likely conflict with the portal rendering.
  • For Minecraft 26.1.x on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge.
