About
Description
Advanced Copper Age remakes the early game of Minecraft in a way to make it more realistic and take longer to complete. Instead of advancing from nothing to iron equipment in a couple minutes, this mod changes how basic tools are crafted, as well as adding in copper tools in between iron and stone.
Note: For a full early game experience, this mod is meant to be used alongside a mod to prevent tree punching. This mod does not prevent trees from being broken with your fist.
Changes:
- Wooden tools now require flint and grass string to craft
- Stone tools now requrie grass string to craft
- Wooden and stone tools now have less durability and mine slower
- Stone pickaxes can no longer mine iron ore
- Adds in Copper Ore, Copper tools and Copper armor
- Adds in basic smithing to create copper and iron gear
Progression guide:
(Skip to marker below if you are not using a mod to disable breaking trees with your fist)
- Leaves no longer drop sticks, aquire two sticks from breaking grass, dead bushes, ferns, etc.
- Aquire plant fiber from leaves and grass-like plants
- Craft Grass String using plant fiber
- Collect one flint and craft a flint axe
- Use said flint axe to gather logs
(Skip here if you are not using a mod to prevent tree punching)
- Gather more flint and grass string to craft a wooden pickaxe
- Gather three cobblestone and craft a stone pickaxe
- You can now use the stone pickaxe to collect copper. Remember, iron cannot be mined with a stone pickaxe! Sometime before or after you've aquired said copper, craft a furnace (to... smelt the copper), along with a unique item to this mod, a Stone Anvil.
- Smelt Raw Copper in the furnace to get Molten Copper. Right click to Molten Copper on the Stone Anvil (or a standard iron anvil) to forge it into ingots. Note: Anvils may be harmed in the making of the ingots! You'll need to do the same thing with Iron once you're there. Watch out, molten metal is hot!
- Note: Smelting down Copper or Iron ore blocks gives ingots directly. But then you miss out on Fortune.
- Craft a Smithing Hammer using cobblestone and sticks
- You can now use the hammer to turn your ingots into plates, the main material for crafting gear.
- Use a Copper Plate, Stone Anvil and other vanilla materials to craft a Blacksmith's Workbench.
- You can now craft items using metal Plates at the Workbench! Place your items and then click "Craft" to craft them.
You can craft the following items at a Blacksmith's Workbench:
- Copper Tools (pickaxe, axe, sword, hoe, shovel)
- Iron Tools (same as the above)
- Copper and Iron armor
- Shield
- Bucket
AI note (for people who care):
- I used AI for some code in this project, as I generally suck as Java programming. However, all of the art, models, etc. are 100% by me.
Inspiration was taken from many other similar mods.
Enjoy!
