# AE2 Level Emitter Fix
Fixes a long-standing Applied Energistics 2 bug: after a chunk unload, a world reload or a server restart, a **Level Emitter can get stuck sending the wrong redstone signal**. The emitter itself looks correct (its state and particles are right), but the blocks next to it still act on the old signal.
## The problem
When an ME Level Emitter turns on or off, AE2 doesn't notify the neighboring blocks right away. It queues the update for the next tick. If the chunk unloads or saves in that short window (you walk away, the server shuts down, the world closes), the queued update is thrown away, but the emitter has already saved its new state.
After the next load, the emitter believes it already told its neighbors, so it never sends the update again. Whatever it controls stays in the old state until soma block update.
### What you'd see in game
- **A machine that won't start or won't stop.** For example, a GregTech machine with a Machine Controller cover keeps running after the item stock is full, or never starts when the stock runs low. Opening the cover's GUI or breaking and replacing a block "fixes" it until it happens again.
- **Redstone that ignores the emitter.** A lamp, piston or redstone line next to the emitter keeps showing the old
signal even though the emitter shows the rig
- **Autocrafting or stocking setups that break randomly** after a server restart or after you come back to your base, with no visible cause.
## What this mod does
- Tracks whether each Level Emitter has a neighbor update that was queued but not delivered yet.
- If the emitter is saved while an update is still pending, it stores that fact in the emitter's data.
- When the emitter loads again, it re-sends the update, so neighboring blocks always end up with the correct signal.
This applies to every emitter built on AE2's Level Emitter**, the **Energy LevelEmitter**, and addon emitters that extend them.
## Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Forge 47+
- Applied Energistics 2 (15.x)
