Aerobatic Elytra

📖 About

Adds a new elytra item to the game, which can fly like a plane would, and propel itself using rockets as fuel.

Essentially, a flight simulator in Minecraft.

✅ Main Features

• Fly like a plane!
• Customizable trails using fireworks (one per each of the 4 rockets)
• Customizable wings with dyes and banners (just like Customizable Elytra)
• Boost by sprinting to go even faster
• Brake by crouching to help landing
• Bounce on slime blocks
• Look around while flying with a key (and aim with a bow as well)
• Extensible through datapacks (includes bundled examples that can be installed with a command)
• Switch to vanilla elytra flight with a key (if allowed in the server)
• Other mods may add new flight modes (such as Aerobatic Elytra Jetpack)
• Customizable Physics

📋 Datapack Features

Some of the features of this mod can be configured with datapacks, as they involve loot tables or recipes. To make these features more readily available, this mod comes with bundled datapacks, which you can easily install with the /aerobaticelytra datapack install command:

• Generate Aerobatic Elytras in End ships (this mod exposes a new End ship loot table)
• Nerf Aerobatic Elytras with upgrade systems (change the required ingredients to improve Aerobatic Elytras)
• Add custom potion effect abilities to elytras (Effects can depend on loot conditions, and can be made unlockable through your own recipes)

🎮 Controls

• Press C to change flight mode (vanilla/aerobatic)
• Jump in the air to start flying (just like normal elytra)
• Move forwards to gain speed
• Look up/down to turn up/down (can be inverted)
• Look left/right to roll left/right
• Move left/right to turn left/right (very slowly, you should turn by rolling)
• Sprint at max speed to get a temporary boost
• Crouch to brake
• Hold jump while flying to rectify your course (useful to fly in a straight line or make small adjustments while holding it)
• Hold Alt to look around you while you fly
• Double press Alt to keep looking around while controlling your flight (useful to look below you while exploring)

The keys to change flight modes (C), and look around (Alt) can be changed. All other controls depend on your movement controls, which should already be configured to your liking.

📜 Fabric?

I plan to port this mod to Fabric, but I have to port first the mods it depends on, mainly Simple Config.
