About

Aesthetic Weapon Trims adds a trim feature to weapons, similar to the one used on armors, however the trims are based on specific aesthetic themes instead of simple patterns.

All Weapons Displayed

The trims can only be used on diamond swords and act both a trim and as a netherite upgrade at the same time, tho the weapons crafted at a smithing table have a slightly higher DPS than regular Netherite weapons. The type of trim does not determine the stats of the weapon but only it's design.

The weapon stats are determined by the new Weapon Patterns, that are used in combination with an aesthetic trim to make one of 3 weapon types:

Daggers

  • Attack Damage: 6
  • Attack Speed: 2.2
  • DPS: 13.2
  • Attack Range: 2 Blocks

Swords

  • Attack Damage: 8.5
  • Attack Speed: 1.6
  • DPS: 13.6
  • Attack Range: 3 Blocks

Glaives

  • Attack Damage: 10
  • Attack Speed: 1.38
  • DPS: 13.8
  • Attack Range: 4.5 Blocks

Recipes

Here's an example on how the smithing recipes look: Any Aesthetic Trim + Diamond Sword + Any Weapon Pattern

smithing example

Some swords have 2 variants, the second one can be optained by just placing the first one in a crafting table. Example: Bronze Trim + Diamond Sword + Sword Weapon Pattern = Bronze Xiphos Bronze Xiphos in crafting table = Bronze Khopesh

The Aesthetic Trims and the Weapon Patterns can be crafted as depicted here:

Compatibility

Aesthetic Weapon Trims is fully integrated with Better Combat's fighting mechanics.

Dependencies

Aesthetic Weapon Trims requires Architectury API

Future

Current plans for future updates include:

  • Animations for Inferno theme items and flesh sword
  • New Weapon Patterns: waraxes/hammers (using a diamond axe as the smithing base)
  • More Aesthetic Trim themes (feel free to make suggestions)
  • Potentially Trims for bows & crossbows at some point
