Alternative Enchantments

Outline

Alternative Enchantments adds vanilla-friendly alternate versions of existing enchantments and also some unique enchantments of its own. Additionally, all these enchantments can be found in the enchanting table and should have minimal impact on the game's balance. Currently it adds 9 enchantments:

• Backstep:
  • An alternate version of Lunge, after hitting an enemy or thrusting with a spear, the player will step backwards to keep distance.
  • Compatible with swords and spears, incompatible with Lunge.
  • Ice Aspect:
    • An alternate version of Fire Aspect, hitting an enemy causes them to take freezing damage and be affected by slowness.
    • Compatible with swords, incompatible with Fire Aspect.
  • Bane of Illagers:
    • An alternate version of Smite, deals extra damage to illager-type enemies.
    • Compatible with swords and spears, incompatible with Sharpness, Smite, Bane of Arthropods.
  • Gills:
    • An alternate version of Respiration, instead of giving the player extra breathing time, it restores the player's breath but only if they are fully swimming.
    • Compatible with helmets, incompatible with Respiration.
  • Magma Walker:
    • An alternate version of Frost Walker, allows the player to walk on lava by turning it into obsidian.
    • Compatible with boots, incompatible with Frost Walker and Depth Strider.
  • Treading:
    • Compatible with boots, allows players to step up one block without needing to jump.
  • Puncture:
    • An alternate version of Power, instead of increasing arrow damage, it increases the damage done to armored enemies and players.
    • Compatible with bows, incompatible with Power.
  • Pull:
    • An alternate version of Punch, instead of knocking back enemies, it pulls them towards the player.
    • Compatible with bows, incompatible with Punch.
  • Frost:
    • An alternate version of Flame, hitting an enemy causes them to take freezing damage and be affected by slowness.
    • Compatible with bows, incompatible with Flame.
  • Growth:
    • An alternate version of Protection, instead of reducing damage taken, it increases the player's max health significantly.
    • Compatible with armor, incompatible with any protection enchantment.
