Description
💎 Amethyst Reforge
Upgrade at the smithing table. Recycle at the blast furnace.
A fully vanilla data pack that turns equipment progression into a two-way street: reforge your gear up or down the material tiers, and reclaim resources from anything you no longer need — no waste, no dead-end items.
✨ Features
🔨 Smithing Table Upgrades & Downgrades
Using amethyst shards as the upgrade template, freely move tools, armor and horse armor up or down the material chain — go from wood to netherite, or scrap netherite back down to iron if you need to.
Tools (pickaxe, axe, sword, shovel, hoe, spear):
- Wooden ↔ Stone ↔ Copper ↔ Iron ↔ Golden ↔ Diamond ↔ Netherite
Armor (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots):
- Leather ↔ Chainmail ↔ Iron ↔ Golden ↔ Diamond ↔ Netherite
- Copper armor integrates into the same chain alongside iron and gold
Horse Armor:
- Leather ↔ Iron ↔ Copper ↔ Golden ↔ Diamond
Every conversion is fully bidirectional — upgrade for better protection, or downgrade to recover a lower tier without destroying the item.
🔥 Blast Furnace Recycling
Smelt equipment and select blocks to recover their raw materials instead of losing them:
| Item | Yields |
|---|---|
| Chainmail gear | Iron chain |
| Iron gear | Iron ingot |
| Copper gear | Copper ingot |
| Golden gear | Gold ingot |
| Diamond gear | Emerald |
| Netherite gear | Netherite ingot |
| Jukebox / Enchanting Table | Diamond |
| Crying Obsidian | Obsidian |
Perfect for cleaning up storage, recovering materials from damaged or unwanted gear, and closing the loop on equipment progression.
🕹️ How to use
- Install the data pack into your world's
datapacksfolder (or via/datapack enable). - Upgrade/downgrade: place your tool/armor + an amethyst shard in the smithing table.
- Recycle: smelt equipment or supported blocks in a blast furnace as usual.
Fully vanilla mechanics — no new items, blocks, or commands. Survival- and multiplayer-safe.
