Have you ever wanted a non-decorational use for amethyst?
Ever wanted to be able to elytra fly with a chestplate on, but don't want to get an Elytra Curios mod?
Amethyst Wings introduces an offhand item that can act as shield, elytra, and firework rockets, all in one.
The functions the offhand item can perform are based on what amethyst-derived crystals are slotted into it. On top of the three functions, certain crystals also provide armor toughness to the player. Additionally, if elytra flight is not enabled, attempting to firework boost will expend some of the energy from the fireworks rockets function and provide a large amount of extra height.
