Description

Apibalego title

Minecraft mod library providing a gamemaster API to remotely interact with a singleplayer / multiplayer world. Mainly intended for streamers or challenge runners with a particular goal that requires remote activation / management, or for roleplay purposes (with a Gamemaster placing specific structures, sending notifications, etc.)

WARNING! This mod requires connecting to a custom server (NOT a Minecraft server) running the Gamemaster API to work. Only connect to trusted servers! Normally, this would be someone you know or that works with you, that will be the "Game Master".

An example server you can download is Egobalego At Home. For more information, see the wiki.

Other than simply allowing remote commands, includes other features such as

  • Datapack/resourcepack download (opt-in clientside)
  • Structure placement (by exact block rather than per-chunk as vanilla does)
  • Toast notification sending

The big one mainly being datapack/resourcepacks, which allow you to remotely modify game behavior.

For both Fabric and Neoforge.

Extracted from Ruins of Growsseth, originally made for Cydonia's run.

FAQ*

Who is this mod even for?

Not really a normal playthrough. This was originally made as above for a stream series, with the purpose of placing structures at specific locations plus sending notifications which were related to a custom made "quest" website.

This is meant for similar cases: roleplay/challenge/audience-influenced series, or in a more private setting for roleplay where a Gamemaster has a more specific control over situations than a server owner with commands on.

Can't I just log into the world as spectator with command powers?

For command execution, yes. Some features are simpler by this, though: vanilla mc does not allow spawning structures at a specific positions (the position within a chunk is fixed), and sending notifications is not directly available. It is a very specific usecase though, I admit.

Can someone hack my PC?

Even if you connect to an untrusted server (don't do that), the most they can do is download datapacks/resourcepacks if you have those settings on. Still, use this only where it makes sense to.

Requirements

Configuration

The mod doesn't work without configuration, as URL for the gamemaster server must be configured.

Additionally, all less safe functions of the mod (datapack download, etc.) are off by default, and are opt-in.

See wiki page for more information.

Mod developers

Other mods can subscribe to the API with their own custom events, see the wiki for more information.
