Apples:

There are several types of new apples, starting from granny smith to new bigger apples. To craft the bigger apples, one must have four regular apples of that variety. 

You can find the newer varieties of apples in the new apple orchard biome.

Apple Orchard:

The new apple orchard biome has much to offer, for instance, the new applin mob. The applin is a cute little critter that is a bit scared of the player. If you want to breed them, I advise to stay careful, they are scared of movement. There is also a wood set and new leaves. The leaves can be mined for apples and can be silk touched to gather them. The only way to find apple trees is to locate the biome, so you can craft the wood using four apples and an oak log.

New Foods:

The mod adds a veriety of new food items, starting with the new apples, like golden delicious apples. You can also craft up apple squares, a new cake-like item that can be placed down to collect the individual squares. You can also craft applesauce, a new stew-like food item that can be eaten faster than a conventional food.
