Description
Sift Origins
Bring a forgotten world back to life. By Arca1n.
Sift Origins is an exploration and restoration add-on for Mielon’s The Sift. Explore willow orchards, ichor marshes, crystal bloomfields, echoing crags, lantern-lit caves, rare Starfall Gardens and ichor oceans.
Explore, remember and restore
- Restore ruined greenhouses, orchards and fountains, and awaken a Garden Heart together.
- Find tall, luminous Memory Stones and watch villagers reenact planting, gathering and departure scenes.
- Befriend Echo Sprite companions and teach them favorite places.
- Grow Sift crops, harvest fruit and create living gardens with Lantern Moths and wishing lights.
- Explore with Echo Compasses, resonance bells, Sonic Charges and the WARden Hammer.
- Discover soul villagers, custom trades, equipment, enchantments, constellations and Starfall nights.
- Enjoy eight original tracks by Arca1n and eight collectible, craftable music discs.
The Sift is a peaceful sanctuary by default. Hostile inhabitants are excluded, and Sonic Charge terrain damage, fire, player damage and friendly-mob damage are disabled. These settings can be adjusted in the config.
Installation
Requires Minecraft Java 26.3, Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer, and Java 25 or newer. Install on both client and server with:
- Mielon’s The Sift 1.1.1 for Fabric 26.3
- Fabric API 0.160.5+26.3 or newer, for Minecraft 26.3
- GeckoLib 5.5.6 or newer, for Minecraft 26.3
Mod Menu 21.0.0 or newer is optional on clients and provides the settings screen. Iris, Sodium, shaders and resource packs are optional; use compatible Minecraft 26.3 builds.
Place the JAR in your mods folder alongside those dependencies. Keep only one Sift Origins version installed, and keep Mielon’s original mod installed.
Getting started
Ignite a complete reinforced-deepslate ancient-city portal frame with flint and steel. The Living Sift journal introduces restoration, memories, gardens and exploration. Craft an Echo Compass to seek landmarks; upgrade it and sneak-use to choose destination types.
With commands enabled, /locate structure #sift_origins:memories finds a Memory Stone, and /locate structure sift_origins:ruined_greenhouse finds a restoration project.
Existing worlds
Back up your world before adding or updating world-generation mods. Sift Origins uses its own Sift dimension and redirects the original mod’s portals to it. Original Sift region files are retained. New generation requires new chunks; existing builds are retained. Themed ancient cities also add generation in the Nether and End.
This mod changes Sift terrain, inhabitants and village trades. Other mods replacing the same dimension, portals or world-generation rules may conflict. Graphics compatibility depends on the versions and packs used.
Credits
Sift Origins and its original soundtrack: Arca1n.
Mielon’s The Sift: Mielon. This independent add-on requires the original mod and credits its MIT-licensed data adaptations. Minecraft and adapted vanilla structure data belong to Mojang Studios / Microsoft. Third-party credits and the original MIT notice are included in the JAR. This is an unofficial Minecraft mod.
