Archery Gimmicks

Adds a small handful of gimmick arrows, as well as a couple basic bow variants and a bow enchantment.

The gimmick arrows:

  • Weighted Arrow - A heavy (high gravity) arrow that launches slightly slower.. and also serves as a great teaching aid for Newton's Third Law! ("If one thing goes flying, so does the other!") Some steady footing (crouching) may help you withstand the forces.
  • Signal Arrow - Works like a signal flare! Fire it into the air, and once it starts coming down, it'll become a bright spot in the sky. Once it starts burning, you won't be able to pick it up again. Can be dyed like leather armor.
  • Messenger Arrow - An arrow with a note attached to it, which can be filled just like a bundle. If it hits an entity, it'll bounce right off! Still hurts, though.
  • Arrow with TNT - The classic bomb-on-a-stick. Got a problem with a few floating blocks out of reach? Not anymore. Requires a strong (fast) impact to detonate, with explosion power scaling with that strength. Don't expect too much, though - the explosion will be weaker than plain ol' TNT at any reasonable speed.
  • Enchanted Arrow - An old and mossy arrow found in dungeons and stronghold corridors. It doesn't appear to be anything special, but it's certainly connected to something powerful... Be careful when shooting these. Watch for falling rocks, and such.

The extras:

  • Light Bow - A variant of the bow that draws four times faster, but only reaches half the power.
  • Heavy Bow - A variant of the bow that reaches twice the power, but takes twice as long to draw. Can be dyed like leather armor.
  • Quickstep - A bow enchantment that lets you quickly retreat when you swing the bow (attack/left mouse button). *teleports behind you* Nothing personnel, kid.

If you're a server owner, there are a few things you can tweak in the config at <minecraft>/config/archery_gimmicks.toml. You can also use QoMC to change the config with commands, or any other Kaleido Config accessory.
