Description

ArtVK

ArtVK is an experimental Blaze3D backend implementation that uses Vulkan 1.0 with optional extensions.

Goal

The main goal of this project is to bring the benefits of Vulkan (such as explicit synchronization and resource management, better render pipeline control) to older and less featureful graphics adapters.

Current status

  • Performance is close to the stock Vulkan backend on Intel Tiger Lake iGPU
  • Compatible with Adreno 5xx+, Mali GPUs (PowerVR graphics have issues)
  • Memory usage is higher compared to the stock Vulkan backend due to the game's frequent descriptor set updates
  • Render distance is limited to 8 chunks because the descriptor set allocator is not mature enough
  • Compatible with Sodium and Distant Horizons

Contribute

Human-made code contributions are always welcome, however we are also looking for people with old (and mobile) devices, weird buggy drivers and such to test our mod. Make sure to try it and report any issues you experience on the issue tracker
