Description

Assorted Ores

Adds six new metals and four gems to find underground. Tin, silver, aluminum, nickel, platinum and lead all have their own ores, and ruby, sapphire, topaz and peridot drop straight from theirs. The other Assorted mods use them for tools, armor and machines, and so can any other mod that uses the common tags.

Metals

  • Tin, silver, aluminum, nickel, platinum and lead.
  • Every ore has a stone and a deepslate version, and drops a raw ore you smelt into an ingot.
  • Each metal has ingots, nuggets, a dust, a gear, a storage block and a raw ore block.
  • Tin and aluminum can be mined with a stone pickaxe. Silver, nickel and lead need iron, and platinum needs diamond.

Gems

  • Ruby, sapphire, topaz and peridot.
  • A gem ore drops its gem right away, so there's nothing to smelt. Fortune gets you more, and Silk Touch keeps the ore.
  • Every gem packs into a storage block.
  • Gem ores need an iron pickaxe or better.

Where to find them

All ten ores show up across the Overworld, each at its own height.

  • Tin, aluminum, topaz and peridot are found higher up. Tin and peridot go all the way up into the mountains.
  • Sapphire, nickel and lead sit around the middle of the world.
  • Silver and ruby are deep down, and platinum is only near the very bottom.

With Assorted Machines

With Assorted Machines installed, the grinding mill turns each metal ore into two dusts and each gem ore into two gems. Tin, silver and nickel dust also go into the alloy forge to make bronze, electrum and invar.

Updating from Assorted Core 10.x

Worlds made with Assorted Core 10.x keep everything when you switch to this mod. Don't install it beside Assorted Core 10.x.

Requirements

Ores also comes in Assorted Core with the other Core mods, if you'd rather have them all in one download.
