About
Description
Attribute Reset is a core combat‑overhaul mod that completely discards Minecraft’s vanilla outdated defense formulas and rebuilds a full‑fledged armor‑toughness combat system.
Vanilla Minecraft imposes hard‑coded stat caps. Stats such as armor (maximum 30), armor toughness (maximum 20), health and attack damage are clamped by the game. No matter how high equipment modifiers stack, any value exceeding these limits gets discarded. Furthermore, armor toughness is largely under‑powered in vanilla mechanics. It only provides minimal protection against massive burst damage and barely works during regular combat. Many RPG‑modded equipment attributes become functionally useless as a result.
This mod completely discards the original vanilla armor‑damage calculation formula instead of merely lifting stat limits. It raises the upper bound for health, armor, armor‑toughness and other stats directly to 2147483647 (2.1 billion). A brand‑new armor‑penetration‑defense calculation logic is reconstructed: attacks may come with a percentage‑based armor‑ignoring effect. Armor toughness is no longer an emergency‑only stat; it becomes a vital defensive attribute dedicated to counteracting incoming armor‑penetration. Players are free to pursue two distinct build paths: high‑armor or high‑toughness. All equipment modifiers can take full practical effect.
Test Results:
Melee strikes with Diamond Sword with different Sharpness enchantments
Target #1: 20 HP, 22 Armor, 0 Armor Toughness
- Sharpness V: 14 hits to kill
- Sharpness IX: 5 hits to kill
- Sharpness XVIII: 3 hits to kill
Target #2: 20 HP, 22 Armor, 8 Armor Toughness
- Sharpness V: Cannot kill target
- Sharpness IX: 20 hits to kill
- Sharpness XVIII: 4 hits to kill
Compatibility Warning
This mod may have compatibility issues with AttributeFix. Loading both mods together could lead to corrupted combat calculations, abnormal damage values, stat glitches and other unpredictable bugs. Attribute Reset already includes built‑in uncapped‑attribute functionality. Using AttributeFix alongside it is unnecessary.
