Description

AurBuild

A NeoForge mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 that adds a Building Gadgets-style Texture Gadget — an FE-powered tool that replaces the textures of an entire selected region with a random palette of blocks, weighted or uniform.

⚒️ Texture Gadget

  • 9-slot palette — shift+right-click any block to add it.
  • Two-corner region selection — right-click corner A, right-click corner B, the entire box is textured in one shot. In-world wireframe preview shows the selection live.
  • Random or Weighted modes — distribute blocks evenly or bias toward heavier weights (configurable per palette entry via mouse scroll in the GUI).
  • FE-powered — 1,000,000 FE buffer by default, 50 FE per block placed. Charge via any FE-compatible source.
  • Compact GUI — palette grid, weight tooltips, mode toggle, on/off toggles for installed upgrades, energy bar.
  • Layered tooltip[Shift] for stats, [Ctrl] for controls.

⚙️ Coal Generator

Burns fuel (coal, planks, lava, blaze rods, anything with a burn time) to produce FE.

  • 100,000 FE internal buffer | 100 FE/tick generation | 10,000 FE/tick output
  • Charge slot — drop a Texture Gadget in to auto-charge it from the buffer.
  • Lit blockstate — block emits light (level 13) while burning, with custom AE2-style multi-face textures.
  • GUI with flame indicator (animated) and energy bar.
  • Pushes FE to adjacent blocks via IEnergyStorage.

🔧 Upgrade Station

Smithing-style table. Drop a gadget + an upgrade item, take the upgraded gadget from the result slot.

  • Hopper- and pipe-friendly via IItemHandler.
  • Custom anvil-themed top texture with fluix accent.

💎 Upgrades (4 items, AE2-card-style art)

Upgrade Effect Stacks
Silk Touch Broken blocks return as themselves (skip loot table). Toggle in GUI. 1
Range Extension Doubles max axis length per install (16 → 32 → … → 4096 with 8 stacks). up to 8
Efficiency Halves the FE cost per block placed. 1
Void Overflow When toggled on in the GUI, all replaced blocks are voided. 1

🔌 Applied Energistics 2 integration (optional)

  • AE2 cables connect directly to the Coal Generator — no Energy Acceptor needed. The generator is a first-class network node and pushes FE-equivalent AE into the network.
  • The Texture Gadget can be linked at a Wireless Access Point. When linked, it pulls blocks from the connected ME network before falling back to the player inventory. Drops from replaced blocks also flow back into the network.

The mod runs without AE2 installed — every AE2 code path is guarded; no AE2 classes are loaded if AE2 isn't present, and AE2-related tooltips disappear.

⚙️ Configuration

config/aurbuild-common.toml:

  • textureGadget.energyCapacity (default 1,000,000 FE)
  • textureGadget.energyTransferRate (default 10,000 FE/tick)
  • textureGadget.energyPerBlock (default 50 FE)
  • textureGadget.maxAxisLength (default 16, multiplied by 2^N with Range upgrades)

NeoForge's built-in config screen is wired up — accessible via Mods → AurBuild → Config.

📋 Recipes

All items are craftable with vanilla materials (iron, redstone, diamond, ender pearls, obsidian, emeralds, gold, string). Recipes auto-unlock in the recipe book when you collect the key ingredients.

🤝 Soft compatibility

  • JEI — recipes show in the JEI panel.
  • Applied Energistics 2 — full grid + storage integration, see above.
