About
Description
Deep underground sits a new ore whose gems slowly cycle through aurora colours—teal, green, violet, pink—and back again. Neighbouring gems shimmer slightly out of sync, and every so often one catches the light and twinkles. Mine it and you’ve got the start of something a bit magical for your gear.
Finding Aurorite
- Spawns in every Overworld biome from Y -56 to Y 40 (most common around Y -8).
- Needs an iron pickaxe or better.
- Gives off a faint glow and the occasional drifting sparkle, so it’s easy to spot in dark caves.
- Drops 1–2 Aurorite Shards. Fortune works; Silk Touch gives the ore block.
- Ore can also be smelted or blasted into shards.
The Aurora Anvil
Surround a regular anvil with 4 Aurorite Shards (one on each side).
The result is an old anvil with its cracks filled in glowing Aurorite, crystals growing from the base.
Open it, put a tool/weapon/armour in the first slot, add 3 Aurorite Shards, and it rolls like a slot machine. Names spin past and slow until one lands. Taking the result costs 3 levels. The anvil flares as the Augment settles in.
Each item holds one Augment. Running it through again swaps it for a different one.
Rolls are fixed the same way the enchanting table works—closing and reopening doesn’t change the result. You only get a new roll by paying for one.
Augments
Only sensible ones appear (no mining Augment on a sword).
- Starlit Step – faster movement at night, leaves a glitter trail
- Moonwake – clear vision in the dark
- Northern Mend – slowly repairs itself at night or underground
- Prism Ward – 15% less damage taken
- Featherfall Halo – 50% less fall damage
- Glimmerstrike (weapons) – hits can spark onto a nearby enemy
- Echo Spark (weapons) – kills make nearby enemies glow
- Lucky Shimmer (tools) – 20% chance ores drop double
Augmented items have a soft glint and an aurora-coloured tooltip.
Config
Everything is tweakable in-game under Mods → Aurorite → Config, or in config/aurorite-common.toml:
- shard and level costs
- which Augments can roll
- strength of each Augment
- whether rerolls must change the Augment
- whether stackable items can be augmented
- ore sparkles and roll sounds
