Balance Philosophy

The core 8x speed / 2x fuel ratio is fixed and can't be lowered below the intended baseline — it's tuned to feel like a genuine upgrade over vanilla furnaces without trivializing fuel management. The /autosmelting speed command exists for server operators who want to fine-tune individual machines beyond the baseline, not to bypass the fuel-cost balance.

Compatibility

Fuel values are read straight from each loader's official fuel API, so modded fuels (coal blocks, mod-added high-tier fuels, etc.) work automatically — no extra configuration needed.
