Description
World Backup
Never lose a Minecraft world again.
World Backup is a lightweight Fabric mod that automatically backs up all your Minecraft worlds the moment you close the game. No commands. No buttons. No setup. Just install it and forget about it — your worlds are always protected.
How it works
Every time you quit Minecraft, World Backup silently runs in the background and saves a compressed copy of all your worlds to your backup folder. You will never have to think about it.
Features
- Automatic backups — triggers the moment you close Minecraft, every single time
- ZIP compression — backups are compressed to save disk space
- Automatic rotation — keeps only your most recent backups and deletes older ones automatically
- Backup logging — saves a log of every backup with timestamps
- Fully configurable — everything is controlled through a simple text config file in your Downloads folder
- Works with any launcher — Modrinth App, vanilla launcher, CurseForge, ATLauncher, and more
- Lightweight — runs silently with zero performance impact while you play
Configuration
On first launch, World Backup creates a file called worldbackup.config in your Downloads folder. Open it in any text editor to customize:
# Path to your Minecraft worlds
saves_path=C:\Users\YOU\AppData\Roaming\ModrinthApp\profiles\YOUR_PROFILE\saves
# Path where backups will be saved
backup_path=C:\Users\YOU\AppData\Roaming\ModrinthApp\profiles\YOUR_PROFILE\backups
# Enable ZIP compression (true/false)
enable_compression=true
# Save a log of all backups (true/false)
enable_logging=true
# Auto-delete old backups (true/false)
enable_rotation=true
# How many backups to keep
max_backups=5
The config file includes examples for every major launcher so you always know exactly what to change.
