Description

AutoFish2Chest

AutoFish2Chest is a client-side Fabric mod that automates fishing, manages caught loot, and keeps fishing rods equipped. It works in both singleplayer and multiplayer without requiring installation on the server.

Features

  • Automatically detects bites, reels in catches, and recasts.
  • Starts automatically when you cast a fishing rod manually.
  • Searches for nearby chests within three blocks.
  • Stores newly caught fish, treasure, and junk in the nearest available chest.
  • Continues using available chest space until the chest is full.
  • Tries another nearby chest when the first cannot accept the catch.
  • Keeps caught fishing rods in the player's inventory instead of storing them.
  • Automatically replaces a broken active rod with another rod from the player's inventory, including those the player has crafted.
  • Places the replacement rod into the same hotbar or offhand slot.
  • Uses configurable randomized reel and recast delays.
  • Includes an optional HUD showing:
    • Current automation state
    • Fish caught
    • Items stored
    • Failed deposits
    • Nearby chest status
    • Session runtime
    • Stops safely when the player opens an unrelated menu, uses another item, dies, or changes worlds.

How to use

  1. Equip a fishing rod.
  2. Stand near one or more chests if you want automatic storage.
  3. Cast the rod normally.
  4. AutoFish2Chest takes over from there.

Caught fishing rods remain in your inventory and can automatically replace the active rod when it breaks. All other catches are stored whenever suitable chest capacity is available. If no chest has room, the catch remains in your inventory.

Configuration

AutoFish2Chest creates config/autofish.properties with these options:

hud_enabled=true
minimum_reel_delay_ticks=2
maximum_reel_delay_ticks=5
minimum_cast_delay_ticks=3
maximum_cast_delay_ticks=8

Requirements

  • Minecraft 26.2
  • Fabric Loader 0.19.3 or newer
  • Fabric API
  • Java 25

AutoFish2Chest is client-side only. It does not need to be installed on the server.
