Description
Awakened Items
Awaken any of your items, enabling it to get better as you use it. However, shoving a soul in an item has other effects as well, so if you're a fan of magic weapons that can speak, you'll probably like this.
How
Awaken an item by dropping it on an anvil and right-clicking the anvil with soulstuff. If no other mods are installed, soulstuff is crafted with a nether star and eight soul sand. Otherwise, please consult a recipe viewer like JEI/EMI/REI for the recipe.
What They Do
Once awakened, an item will slowly gain levels from being used. Per level tools will mine faster, weapons will deal more damage and armor will protect better. Awakened items won't despawn anymore. If picked up by a mob they'll hurt it until it's dead and if picked up by another player, it'll be less effective. Awakened items will also speak to their owner occasionally.
