Description
Minecraft B-Side
Minecraft B-Side is a datapack and mod aiming to expand upon and interconnect many of the systems of Minecraft. The datapack is developed and released in 'tracks'; small to medium sets of features focused around a theme or system.
Track 1 - Overture
-
Fourteen new music discs have been added to the game
-
These include many songs from c418's Minecraft Volume Alpha & Beta that were never added to the game, as well as a few miscellaneous picks
-
Most of these can be found in structures or otherwise via exploration

Track 2 - Enchanting
- Villagers and Enchantment Tables now only provide a small set of 'core' enchantments
- Enchanted books are distributed per structure - ie, structures will contain thematic enchanted books, such as fortune in a mineshaft
- A new spear enchantment, Poison Tipped, will poison enemies when hit
- Frost Walker, Impaling, Quick Charge, Projectile Protection, Blast Protection, and Fire Protection have all been buffed or rebalanced
- Anvil costs will no longer increase the more an item is repaired or enchanted
- Ocean Monuments and Witch Huts now both contain loot

Track 3 - Into The Jungle
- Jungle generation has been overhauled with taller and denser trees, forming a lower and upper canopy
- Mossy rocks, muddy lakes, leaf litter, and podzol now cover the ground (alongside jungle bushes)
- The jungle floor will at points be dark enough to spawn mobs during the day, including the bogged
- A new Poison Dart frog variant will spawn in jungles, and is poisonous to the touch
- Ocelots can be tamed again, and will keep their fur colour

Track 4 - Interactivity
- Four new Sulphur Cube archetypes have been added
- Banners placed on top of lodestones will create a Waypoint on the player locator bar
- Cactus Flowers, Melons, and Glistening Melons are all now edible, and are all snack foods
- Sniffers can now also sniff many more seeds, and golden dandelions
- Crafting doors now gives two doors; crafting trapdoors now gives 6 trapdoors, or 4 for metals
- Turtle Helmets have been significantly buffed
- A bottle of ink or glow ink can be crafted, giving blindness or glowing
- and much more !!!

This datapack is still in development! Many more tracks, as well as expansions to these tracks, are in the works and will be released in the future. If you have any feedback or find any bugs, please report on the github issue tracker (linked to the right) or message me @lostwillowtree on discord. I discovered that Modrinth has a feature to automatically package a datapack as a mod, hours after building a fabric version myself. Until a major issue comes up, I will continue to use this feature for non-fabric loaders, while I will manually update the fabric version.
