Mod Title

Backported Dappled Forest

In the 3rd drop of 2026, 26.3, Mojang added the Dappled Forest as their new biome. This mod aims to backport that biome to older versions. This is expecially useful for people who don't want to update mods, update their version, or have large modpacks.

Version Support

This mod is in a very early alpha stage, with development working toward fixing bugs and trying to be as identical to vanilla as possible. 1.21.1 will be the first version for all development.

After the mod's main development is finished, it will be ported to more versions.

Features

This mod aims to add the Dappled Forest to older versions, here is what the mod will support:

  • Poplar Wood Set (Building blocks)
  • Poplar Trees
  • Dappled Forest (And all of its features, closest to vanilla as possible)
  • Poplar Leaves
  • Shelf Mushrooms

Please keep in mind that because this mod is still in development, it will not have all the features listed above yet.

Other Backports

This mod plans to add the Dappled Forest, not everything from 26.3. Here are all the features that will NOT be added:

  • Abandoned Campsites: This mod does not backport abandoned campsites, and I have no plans to.
  • Cushions: This mod does not backport cushions, although I am considering creating a different mod that adds these.
  • Wool/Concrete Stairs/Slabs: This mod does not backport Wool/Concrete stairs and slabs. I have two other mods that backport these features. You can download them on CurseForge and Modrinth.
  • Straw Beds: This mod does not backport Straw Beds.
  • Leaf Litter: This mod will only support Leaf Litter on the ground on versions 1.21.5 and higher.
