Description
Backstab is a configurable mod that adds the ability for weapons to backstab players/entities alongside a few basic daggers
Features:
- Daggers: Can backstab players out of the box, weaker than normal swords and cannot using sweeping edge but cost less to make
- A config that lets you make any item be able to backstab, and mess with other stuff
Also, check out Laike_Endaril's Dynamic Stealth mod! (Note: The developer stopped working on it, 1.12 only)

Mod Development Information:
After taking a bit of a break I decided to update Backstab to 1.19.2 (I will be working on 1.19.3 once I've seen it gain more traction
For now the basic 1.19.2 includes as per changelog:
-Whitelisted items can now override the default multiplier/bonus in the config
-Support for Minecraft's and Forge's tag system, simply add items/tags to backstab:backstab as an alternative to the whitelist config system
-Custom death message: "assassinated"
-Daggers now counts as swords to forge (for modcompat)
-Random bug fixes
Some features I plan to add:
-Enchants to allow backstabbing or silent kill messages
-Possible debuffs?
-% armor penetration
-Actually open source the code so that people can help identify bugs and issues
-Mini wiki page? Should be self explained in /backstab config and the config file itself but eh
