Description
Introduction
The Balisong is a new weapon that takes on a fresh and unique mechanic in combat. Unlike most weapons, but similar to the Mace, the Balisong is a timed weapon. It incorporates the popular flipping hobby as its primary mechanic, switching between a closed and opened state when clicking or holding the USE keybind (default: right-click). The faster the median speed of your flips over the past 3 seconds, the more damage the next attack will deal.
A new non-treasure enchantment is also introduced called Momentum which makes your flips deal 35% more damage per level with a maximum of 3. For comparison, an Iron Balisong with an average flips (over 3 seconds) of 5 per second can deal 5 hearts of damage, while that same balisong with Momentum 3 can deal 10.
The balisong has two attack types, stun and strike. When the balisong is closed, hit entities will be stunned and freeze for 2 seconds. They can still attack you if you are within their range, but they will be unable to move. This gives you enough time to get some flips going for striking them when the balisong is open. A perfectly timed example would be a consistent combo of stun, strike, stun, strike, until the target is defeated.
Some entities such as Iron Golems, Shulkers, and Bosses cannot be stunned. Additionally, armored horses and entities wearing an Iron, Diamond, or Netherite Helmet are invulnerable to stun attacks.
