A simple Minecraft mod that adds a new "Basalt Walker" enchantment, allowing you to (briefly) walk on lava.
📜 Introduction
Ever wished you could walk on lava just like Frost Walker lets you walk on water? This mod introduces a new boot enchantment, Basalt Walker, to do just that.
When you walk near lava while wearing enchanted boots, the lava beneath your feet will turn into temporary "Soft Basalt" blocks, creating a safe path for you.
✨ Features
Enchantment: Basalt Walker
- Name: Basalt Walker
- Applies to: Boots only.
- Max Level: 2.
- Effect:
- Converts lava blocks at the player's feet and in the surrounding area into "Soft Basalt" blocks.
- Level I: Conversion radius is approximately 3 blocks.
- Level II: Conversion radius is approximately 4 blocks (Radius = 2 + Enchantment Level).
- How to get: By default, this is a Treasure Enchantment. This means you cannot get it from an Enchanting Table. Instead, you must find it as an enchanted book in loot chests, from fishing, or by trading with villagers.
Block: Soft Basalt
- Name: Soft Basalt
- Temporary Block: This block is temporary. It will begin to melt a short time after being created (after 60-120 ticks).
- Melting Stages: Soft Basalt has 4 melting stages (a
meltvalue from 0 to 3), appearing more cracked as it decays. - Final Form:
- In hot dimensions (like The Nether), it will melt back into a Lava block.
- In other dimensions (like The Overworld), it will melt and disappear (turning into Air).
🔧 Configuration
You can find the mod's configuration file (basaltwalker-common.toml) in your config folder.
treasure(Default:true)- Controls whether the "Basalt Walker" enchantment is a treasure enchantment.
- If you set this to
false, you will be able to obtain the enchantment from a regular Enchanting Table.

This project is a remake of the original "Basalt Walker" mod.
