Battle Zone Manager is a flexible and powerful server-side mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 designed to bring dynamic Battle Royale and Lasertag minigames to your server. Packed with automatic world border shrinking, customizable respawn mechanics, integrated sound alerts, and a live scoreboard, this mod is perfect for events, community projects, or dedicated minigame servers!

The mod features two fully integrated, unique game modes:

  • 🏆 Default Mode (Battle Royale):
    • Classic survival combat within a shrinking play area.
    • Spawn Banner: Every player receives a Red Spawn Banner at the start:
      • Right-click on a Block/Ground: Sets your fixed, personal respawn point at that exact location.
      • Right-click into the Air: Clears your personal spawn point – you will respawn randomly inside the active zone upon death.
  • ⚡ Lasertag Mode:
    • Fast-paced, action-packed mode featuring instant kills!
    • Random Laser Blaster: Players spawn with an enchanted Trident styled as either a Magenta or Cyan Laser Blaster.
    • Continuous Beam Effect: Fires a sharp, gapless particle beam across long distances.
    • 0.5s Cooldown: Built-in anti-spam firing cooldown with visual and audio feedback.
    • In Lasertag mode, players do not receive a Spawn Banner and always respawn at safe, random locations.

Advanced gameplay mechanics ensure a smooth and fair experience:

  • ⚡ Instant Respawn (No Death Screen):
    • Player deaths are handled seamlessly by the server. Players bypass the standard death screen and instantly respawn back into the game.
  • 🛡️ Safe Anti-Wall Spawns:
    • The spawn algorithm checks for open air blocks above solid ground. Players will never spawn inside walls, blocks, or outside the world border.
  • ❤️ Natural Regeneration Disabled:
    • The gamerule naturalRegeneration is automatically set to false during active games and restored to true when the game ends.
  • 🎒 Invisibility & KeepInventory:
    • Players receive 10 seconds of grace period invisibility at match start, along with forced keepInventory so gear is never lost on death.

Dynamic zone management keeps matches tense and competitive:

  • 🗺️ Multi-Stage Border Shrinking: The world border shrinks smoothly over multiple dynamic phases from the configured initial radius down to the end radius.
  • 📍 Centered Play Area: The zone center can be configured using exact coordinates or set directly to the admin's current position.
  • ⏸️ Pause & Freeze Commands: Pause the game clock and zone at any time. The freeze mode additionally immobilizes all players (ideal for host announcements).

Full match oversight with automated audio notifications:

  • ⏳ Audible Time Alerts:
    • Automatic chat broadcasts paired with distinct sound notifications at 5 Minutes, 1 Minute, 30 Seconds, 10 Seconds, and a final countdown from 5 to 1.
  • 📊 Sidebar Scoreboard:
    • Live tracking of remaining match time and total kills per player.
  • ✨ Glow Radar:
    • Every 50 seconds, all active players glow for 10 seconds to highlight camper locations and speed up match pacing.

Simple match setup via easy-to-use in-game commands:

  • 🛠️ Configuration Command:
    • /configgame <x> <y> <z> <startBorderSize> <endBorderSize> <gameTimeMinutes> <mode>
    • Example (Default BR): /configgame ~ ~ ~ 500 50 10 default
    • Example (Lasertag): /configgame 0 64 0 300 30 5 laser
  • 🎮 Match Control:
    • /startgame – Starts the configured match with a 10s grace period.
    • /stopgame – Ends the active match immediately and resets the world border.
    • /pausegame / /resumegame – Pauses or resumes the match timer and border.
    • /freezegame – Pauses the match and immobilizes all players.
