About

Description

Want beacon zones that do more than vanilla potions? Build a pyramid and specialize it.

Beacon+

Specialized beacons for modern Minecraft. Beacon+ keeps the familiar pyramid, GUI, and beam — then adds five beacon types with their own powers, colors, and scaling. Fortune, flight, mob control, local weather, and automated farms all live in the same block you already know how to build.

Beacon+ extends the vanilla beacon framework, not a replacement. Same pyramid layers, same effect-slot layout, same nether-star craft — but each stained-glass color unlocks a different role. Copper through netherite pyramids scale every effect. Optional Patchouli adds a full in-game guide (granted on first world join).

You can fight the Wither for a nether star — or read on for what each beacon does.

The five beacons

Beacon Glass Role
Support Yellow Luck, Fortune, attack speed, reach, night vision, max health, saturation, zone flight
Offensive Red Weakness, slowness, glowing, poison, wither, lightning, blindness + AI disruption
Gravitational Purple Attract/repel items & mobs, gravity well, contact damage, redstone toggle
Weather Orange Clear, rain, thunder, snow (even in deserts), drought, lock day/night
Harvest Lime Growth boost, soil moisture, bonemeal pulse, weed shield, rich harvest, auto-reap, bee harmony

Each uses the vanilla slot map: Speed & Haste = tier 1 primaries, Resistance & Jump = tier 2, Strength = tier 3, Regeneration & Upgrade (duplicate icon) = tier 4 secondaries.

Getting Started

  1. Install — Fabric Loader + Fabric API for Minecraft 1.20.1 (see Requirements).
  2. Optional — Patchouli for the Beacon+ Guide (auto-granted when you first join a world; also craftable with book + paper + glowstone).
  3. Build a pyramid — Same rules as vanilla: 1–4 layers, one mineral type throughout (copper → netherite; stronger blocks = stronger effects).
  4. Craft a beacon — Nether star center, three obsidian below, three stained glass above (color = beacon type).
  5. Open the GUI — Pick primaries and secondaries from the custom icon set; Offensive and Gravitational beacons have extra Mode / Target buttons.
  6. Power it — Feed it like a normal beacon. Effects apply in the zone around the pyramid.

⚠️ Note: Beacon+ is a Fabric mod for 1.20.1. Patchouli is optional but strongly recommended for the guide book. Vanilla beacons are unchanged — Beacon+ adds new blocks alongside them.

Support Beacon

Your home-base buff pillar. Players inside the zone get scaled bonuses from pyramid tier:

  • Fortune / Luck — Luck I–III plus Fortune on breaks
  • Attack Swiftness — up to +40% attack speed on netherite
  • Reach — up to +3 blocks on netherite
  • Night Vision — while in zone
  • Max Health — up to +5♥ on netherite
  • Slow Saturation — passive hunger/saturation (secondary)
  • Fly — creative-style flight in a bubble: (material tier × 8) + 10 blocks (upgrade secondary)

Offensive Beacon

Area denial for mobs. Mode button cycles: Hostile Only → Hostile + Neutral → All Entities (players never targeted).

  • Primary debuffs: Weakness, Slowness, Glowing, Poison, Wither
  • Lightning Strike — sky-visible mobs get periodic lightning (10–20s cooldown by tier)
  • Blindness + AI Disruption — blindness plus reduced follow range so mobs lose aggro

Bosses (Wither, Ender Dragon) get reduced debuff amplifier.

Gravitational Beacon

Motion control for items and mobs. Target button: Hostile / Neutral / Passive / All. Players are never moved.

  • Attract / Repel Items — vacuum or scatter drops
  • Attract / Repel Mobs — pull or push by type filter
  • Gravity Well — weaker omnidirectional pull
  • Contact Damage — 2 magic damage/s within 2 blocks of the core
  • Redstone Gate — primary only runs while the beacon block is powered

Attracted items briefly ignore physics for smoother collection. Zone clears when the beacon is broken.

Weather Beacon

Per-player weather and sky inside the zone — works in Mesa, desert, and other dry biomes.

  • Clear / Rain / Thunder / Snow / Drought — real precipitation rendering, storm clouds, snow layers where rules allow
  • Lock Day — frozen noon; undead burn under open sky (helmets still protect)
  • Lock Night — frozen midnight
  • Intensity scales with pyramid material

Harvest Beacon

Automated farming hub. Effects tick on a steady interval; output scales with pyramid tier.

  • Growth Boost — ages random crops in the radius
  • Soil Moisture — farmland stays hydrated
  • Bonemeal Pulse — bonemeal-style growth with particles on crops and berry bushes
  • Weed Shield — anti-trample, fall-distance reset, soil hydration
  • Rich Harvest — bonus drops when breaking mature crops
  • Auto-Reap — harvests mature crops and replants wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroots
  • Bee Harmony — calmer bees, faster aging, breeding nudges in zone

Rich Harvest + Auto-Reap work together: bonus drops apply on auto-harvested crops.

Pyramid Materials

One block type for the whole pyramid, weakest → strongest:

CopperIronGoldDiamondEmeraldNetherite

Material support tier scales luck level, reach, fly radius, gravity force, weather intensity, harvest throughput, offensive cooldowns, and more. Netherite = maximum power.
