Description
This mod brings back the classic Minecraft Beta atmosphere by replacing all player skins with Steve.
I wanted to recreate that simple, old-school feeling where everyone looked the same and the game felt more minimal and nostalgic.
It’s fully client-side and configurable, so you can tweak how it works if needed.
This mod works by overriding player skin textures on the client, forcing all players to appear as Steve regardless of their actual skin. It also allows you to choose between different classic variants and control the model style through the config menu.
The idea for this mod was inspired by the Default Skin mod, but I wanted to create my own version with more flexibility, cleaner behavior, and proper support for newer Minecraft versions. This mod focuses on simplicity, configurability, and preserving the original Beta-like experience.
If you miss the classic era of Minecraft, this mod is for you.
For the mod to work, you need to download: Cloth Config API (Fabric/Forge/NeoForge)
