About

Description

In Minecraft 1.12.2, players must sleep through the entire night to set a spawn point. This is very inconvenient.

This mod backports the bed mechanics from 1.15 to 1.12.2:

attempting to sleep during daytime now updates your spawn location!

Key Features

  • Right-click a bed at any time to directly set your spawn point—no waiting for nighttime!
  • After successfully changing the spawn point, the message "Respawn point set" will appear in chat.
  • If the bed is obstructed by blocks that cause suffocation above it, you will see an error message "This bed is obstructed" and the spawn point will not be set.

New features in 1.1.0:

Have you noticed that the usable distance of beds is not symmetrical?

This is because in 1.12.2, the vanilla bedInRange method calculates distances using the block's integer coordinates (its northwest bottom corner) rather than the block's center. As a result, the effective range is skewed toward the northwest.

Before

This mod fixes the issue using Mixin!

The distance check is now based on the geometric center of the block, making the bed's usable range fully consistent with 1.13+ versions. Now, no matter which direction you approach the bed from, the required range is the same.
