Description
Berlioz
Berlioz plays music in Minecraft, pulled live from YouTube, SoundCloud, or any direct audio link, and ties it into the world: ambient tracks that play in specific areas, or playlists broadcast to the players around you.
This is the client side (Fabric mod). It streams the audio, shows an in-game player, and gives you the playlist and zone screens. The coordination (who hears what, and where) is handled by the authoritive Berlioz server plugin, so to actually hear anything you need to be on a server running it.
The server side can be found Here !
What it does
Music player
Gives you a real in-game music player. A small UI element that shows the current track, progress and volume (that you can change).
A broadcast panel.
Press M to open it (if you have the right permission). Paste some links, build a playlist, hit play, and it broadcasts to everyone nearby who has the mod. You can shuffle, repeat, skip, seek, and set the broadcast radius. Upcoming tracks get cached ahead of time so songs don't cut out between each other.
Ambient zones.
With the right permission you get a zone manager: list nearby zones, tp to them, and edit which songs play inside each zone. Walk in, music starts; walk out, it fades away.
How it works
No manual setup for the streaming. On first use it quietly (and securely) downloads yt-dlp and ffmpeg into their own folder (which are necessary to read songs from the internet). You don't have to install anything yourself.
In the custom settings panel, you can turn individual sources on or off (YouTube / SoundCloud / direct links), tune the fade length, and set separate volumes for ambient, DJ and server-pushed music.
Notes : Works on servers that runs the Berlioz plugin. You'll have to accept or deny servers that you trust. Only players who have the mod hear the streamed audio. People without it still get a clickable chat link to whatever's playing. Found a bug or want a feature? Open an issue, or contact me on discord (vainerii).
