All credit goes to main author of the legendary Better Records mod Stumblinbear, AngrySoundTech, and the legendary Fork fixer AlexS1105 that too has vanished from earth and purged the repository.
the gents seem to take a break from modding,
so with this fixed Fork that is not mine, you can now enjoy Dropbox URL music in your game.
TO USE DROPBOX LINKS TO YOUR MUSIC, MAKE SURE THE LINK ENDS WITH "dl=1"
most links when you press share link, you get dl=0.
IT MUST BE 1 in the url when you etch the record.
Good thing I kept this mod in my mod folder.
This is uploaded for the sake of comfort, ease, and the usage in modpacks.

Better Records adds the ability to listen to your favorite songs, as music discs in Minecraft!
Listen to internet radio streams, or etch a record in-game with the URL to an mp3, wav, or ogg file and it will download and play for you and all your friends!
Use lasers and strobe lights to add streams of color and flashes of light!
Increase the radius by connecting speakers!
