Better Screenshot

Better Screenshot overhauls the vanilla F2 screenshot system with a dedicated camera mode, rule-of-thirds grid guides, zoom control, and a full-featured screenshot manager.

Features

Camera Mode

Pressing F2 toggles a camera mode instead of taking an immediate screenshot. While active:

• All HUD elements (health, hunger, hotbar, chat, etc.) are hidden
• Held items and hands are hidden from first-person view
• Left-click captures a clean screenshot without any UI elements
• Press F2 again or ESC to exit camera mode

Framing Guides

A rule-of-thirds grid overlay appears in camera mode:

• Two vertical and two horizontal lines divide the screen into nine equal sections
• Helps apply classic photography composition principles
• The grid is automatically hidden when capturing a screenshot

Zoom Control

• Scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in and out
• Zoom range: 1.0x to 10.0x, adjustable in 0.25x increments
• Current zoom level displays in the lower-right corner
• FOV adjusts in real-time based on zoom level

Screenshot Manager

Accessible from both the main menu and in-game pause menu:

• Displays all PNG screenshots from the screenshots folder as thumbnails
• Click any thumbnail to select it
• Fullscreen View: Click to view any screenshot at full size
• Delete: Remove unwanted screenshots with a confirmation dialog
• Open Folder: Open the screenshots directory in your system file explorer

Clean Screenshots

All screenshots taken in camera mode capture only the game world:

• No HUD elements
• No held items or hands
• No overlay guides
• Pure, clean images suitable for sharing
