Description

Biodiverse adds a total of 26 interesting animals to a range of minecraft biomes. Animals exhibit a variety of different behaviours, from sneaking up on prey during a hunt, to just taking a long nap. Many animals can provide useful perks to the player, but all serve to make the world and your zoos more interesting and diverse.
Animals:
Anglerfish

Found in deep ocean biomes, anglerfish are hostile toward players. Defeating one drops its glowing bulb and anglerfish meat, which can be cooked and eaten. The angler bulb can also be brewed into Night Vision potions.
Beluga Whale

Belugas roam frozen ocean biomes and, like dolphins, are curious and intelligent. They will follow nearby players and help them fend off hostile mobs.
BlackBear

Black bears appear in six different colors across forest biomes. Normally timid, they avoid players but will fight back when attacked. Offering honey or berries makes them beg, and feeding them builds trust so they won’t flee. Black bears can be sheared for fur, which can be crafted into a makeshift bear-head helmet.
Blue Whale

Graceful giants of the deep ocean, blue whales embody the beauty of the sea. Swimming nearby grants the Ancient Blessing effect, which boosts regeneration and resistance.
Capybara

Capybaras inhabit jungle biomes and are known for their calm, sleepy nature. Their drowsiness radiates as a debuff effect that weakens nearby mobs, helping them avoid predators.
Cassowary

Cassowaries are hostile, flightless birds found in bamboo jungles. Feeding them melon slices may pacify them briefly, during which they can dig up random seeds when given more. They can also be bred with melon blocks, producing eggs that may hatch or be eaten. Cassowaries drop multiple feathers and raw meat.
Cheetah

Cheetahs roam savanna biomes, hunting smaller animals like pigs and sheep. They can be tamed with raw beef, pork, or mutton, though their speed and skittishness make them tricky to feed.
Cougar

Cougars dwell in cold mountain regions, preying on sheep and goats. They attack players who wander too close, so keep your distance.
Bowhead Whale

Bowhead Whales lurch around frozen ocean biomes, indicating their huge prescence. They frequently require to break ice on the surface to breath, which has a rare chance of chipping away and dropping a cranium shard, crafting a large radius pickaxe.
Crab

Crabs scuttle across beaches in many colors. Their claws can be wielded in the off-hand to extend reach, while their legs drop as a tasty, cookable food source. If they hear music, perhaps they will join in on the dancing...
Elk

Elk can be found in herds or solitary males in any forest biome. They are large and tough creatures who will defend themselves from attackers, while the rest of the herd runs away. They seem to have a lot of meat and leather on them... and perhaps drop their skull
Fennec Fox

Hippopotomus

Hippos live near water in the savanna. Aggressive and powerful, they deal heavy damage when provoked. They drop teeth—used to craft fast-hitting daggers—and meat that can be cooked.
Humpback Whale

Humpbacks are enormous, majestic creatures of the deep ocean, singing their songs as they migrate across the seas.
Jaguar

Jaguars stalk jungle biomes, hunting capybaras. Make sure to keep your eyes on them, as they are known to hunt from behind... few have also spotted a rare, fully black coloured jaguar.
Lion

Lions form prides in the great plains of the savanna. they are strong and rough felines, that protect their kids from any players approaching. If one does manage to lure away a cub without upsetting any of the pride members, meat may be used to tame and provide a strong and resilient companion, which may be able to be decorated with different armors.
Meerkat

Meerkats live in burrows scattered across the savanna. They sense danger from hostile mobs and quickly retreat underground. Feeding them spider eyes temporarily reveals hostile mobs in the area.
Musk Ox

Musk oxen roam snowy biomes in herds. When grass is available, they grow a layer of wool that can be sheared for Qiviut, which substitutes for brown wool or crafts into parka armor. They also provide a great amount of a food source.
Orangutan

Orangutans swing through jungle biomes, climbing easily on log-type blocks.
Oryx

Oryx are majestic desert antelope that band together in herds. They drop venison and horns, the latter of which can be crafted into a durable Oryx Sword.
Ostrich

The largest birds in the overworld, ostriches are swift and lightweight, making excellent mounts that don’t sink in water. They can be tamed with melon slices, bred with melon blocks, and lay eggs that may be cooked into omelets.
Red Panda

Red pandas live in bamboo jungles and shy away from both players and hostile mobs. Feeding them bamboo builds trust. Like cats with creepers, red pandas scare away spiders.
Rhinoceros

Savanna rhinos come in three color variants and are massive, tank-like creatures. Once tamed with hay bales, they can be saddled as strong but slow mounts. They defend their rider against threats, and with a charge command, can deal devastating knockback damage.
Poison Dart Frog

Tiny frogs found in jungles, they avoid larger creatures. When killed, they drop poisonous slime used for crafting darts. Fired from a bamboo blowgun, poison darts freeze mobs briefly on hit.
Wildebeest

Wildebeest gather in large herds across the savanna, serving as prey for lions, cheetahs, and players. They drop beef when slain.
