Description
BiomOre
A mod (was originally named Dense Ore) that changes ore generation by THICKENING ore veins but also distributing ore based on the biome
This mod makes ore finding VERY difficult but also REWARDING. Protips: Ravines and caves are your best friend!
Press F3 to see what ores can be found in the biome.
The goal of this mod is to make ore-finding experience more exciting and biome-oriented. Here is the list of ore generation based on biome category:
- Ocean: Patchy emerald ores. Fat diamond ores.
- Plain: So many coal and iron ores!
- River: Better coal block, floory iron ores.
- Desert: Goldy ore. Redstone ores.
- Extreme hills: Coal block so THICK! + Lapis block.
- Forest/Taiga: Blue lapis ore. Blue diamond block.
- Swamp: Sticky emerald blocks
- Mushroom: ORE BUFFET
- Beach: Iron and Gold ore family
- Jungle: Enlightened iron and diamond block
- Savanna: The floor is LAPIS block. Also, redstone rich.
- Mesa: Iron and redstone ore fossils
Smaller variation of other ore may exist. This is just the common theme of ore generation in these biomes.
Future plans:
- coal blocks, very rare netherite block, very rare surface ancient debris in nether
Requirements
- Minecraft Fabric Loader
- Compatible Fabric API
- A working computer
How to Use
For 1.15.2 version:
Select option to create a new world. Select for more world option. Navigate through the world type until you see "World Type: BiomOre". Explore your new BiomOre world!
For 1.16.1 - 1.16.4 version:
From the game rules selection, scroll down to the bottommost part of the page, and enable 'Use BiomOre' rule. Like other gamerules, this can also be enabled all other world types.
For server-only (from 1.16.1):
Simply put BiomOre v0.3.3 / v0.4.1 into the mod folder and BiomOre will be automatically activated. useBiomore gamerule is removed on server-only MC because you cannot set the gamerule on the first world generation
Where to Download
Head to the Github release page. Find the latest release. Click on Assets. Select the .jar file. Put the .jar file into your Fabric Minecraft mod folder.
Tested compatibility:
- Cave Biome mod
- BYG mod
Note:
-
This mod may not be compatible with other world generation mods. I am not aware of their common method of registering world generator and ore registering. If you wish to check your mod compatibility with mine, please do inform me, and we can inspect the compatibility together.
-
<s> If your mod provides new ores that generate in the overworld, it will be overwritten and will not generate with this mod (a confirmed behaviour).[Up until v0.3.1] </s> From MC version 1.16.1 onwards, the mod later than 0.3.2 will only overwrite ore generation that uses vanilla ore config feature implementation and only vanila ores will be overwritten.
-
When you choose to create a world with this mod, do not load the world outside of the mod. Vanilla and other world generation mod may not recognise BiomOre and may corrupt your world or crash your Minecraft.
-
If you wish to experiment this mod with other mod, please do inform me too! It would be helpful to know the compatibility with another mod.
-
While you have cheat enabled, you can use the command
/function dev:digto dig 18x18 hole from your position to the bedrock bottom.
