About

Description

I've recently learned a little bit about coding java mods, so I made a nice little mod with swords and stuff.

This was made for Forge 47.0.18 version 1.20.1 and is not dependent on any other mods.

This mod adds 7 new weapons to the game, and a decently unique way to craft them.

How it works

Crafting each weapon relies on Casting Molds.

Casting
molds can be found in village weaponsmith chests, pillager outposts, ancient cities, bastion other/treasure chests, dungeons, end city chests, and desert pyramids.

Uncrafted weapon blades can be found in village weaponsmith chests, pillager outposts, end city treasure, and bastion other/treasure chests.

These blades are used to craft completed weapons, which can then be used to craft molds

A casting mold can be duplicated using itself, 1 diamond, and 7 of its respective stone types, which are stone, deepslate, blackstone, and sandstone.

Crafting blades

Only gold, iron, and diamond blades are craftable.

Netherite blades cannot be crafted; netherite weapons are created from upgrading their diamond counterparts as per vanilla rules.

- Daggers and Spears cost 1 material to craft
- Longswords and Broadsword cost 3
- Greatswords cost 4
- Greataxes cost 5
- Hatchets cost 2
(The amount of materials and sticks each weapon requires is listed in the description of each casting mold item)

The shape of the materials and casting mold in the crafting table when making a blade do not matter, but shape matters when using that blade to craft a completed weapon.

When crafting a completed weapon, Dagger, Longsword, Greatsword, Hatchet, Rapier, and Broadsword blades require 1 stick to be below them in the crafting table. Spears, Greataxes, and Throwing Spears require 2 sticks, like a shovel recipe.

Wooden and stone weapons cannot be crafted. That'd be silly.

The Weapons

This mod adds 9 new weapons to the game: Daggers, Longswords, Greatswords, Spears, Greataxes, Hatchets, Rapiers, Throwing Spears, and Broadswords.

Each of these has different statistics and attributes that set them apart from the rest. For example, Daggers have both a high attack damage and speed, at the cost of a shorter attack range.

As per the throwing update, Daggers, the new Throwing Spears, and Hatchets are throwable.

Every weapon can have the same enchantments as a sword would, except for the throwable weapons. These cannot have sweeping, but can be enchanted with loyalty.

!! Compatibility warning !!
This mod overrides some vanilla loot tables. These include:
- Village weaponsmith chest

-
Ancient city chest

- Bastion other
- Bastion treasure
- Pillager outpost
- Desert pyramid

- Dungeon

- End City Treasure

Feedback!!!

I love hearing all of your thoughts on my work, if you have any suggestions, please leave a comment!

Casting molds and weapon blades can be found in village weaponsmith chests, pillager outposts, ancient cities, bastion other/treasure chests, dungeons, end city chests, and desert pyramids.

Molds are used to craft blades, which are used to craft completed weapons. Completed weapons can be converted back into molds.

A casting mold can be duplicated using itself, 4 diamonds, and 4 of its respective stone types, which are stone, deepslate, blackstone, sandstone, and end stone.
