👁️👂🔇 Blind Deaf Muted — The Ultimate Co-op Challenge

Blind Deaf Muted is a unique cooperative challenge mod for Minecraft (Fabric 1.21.4) designed for 3 or more players. The goal is simple: beat the Ender Dragon (in Hardcore or Normal mode). The catch? Each player is affected by a strict sensory handicap — Blind, Deaf, or Muted — and must rely on their teammates to perceive the world and take action.

⚠️ Communication is key: No player has eyes, ears, and voice all at once. You must constantly relay information to survive and triumph!

🌀 The Communication Loop (The Triangle)

The gameplay relies on a total asymmetry of communication channels. Each role has two out of three abilities:

🛠️ Special Mod Items

To help you out (or spice up the game), several custom items have been added and can be crafted or found in the world:

• 📢 The Megaphone: Allows Deaf or Muted players to temporarily bypass their voice handicap. By right-clicking, the player activates a 5-second burst (with a 2-minute cooldown) during which their voice becomes audible and clear again (with a fun megaphone effect).
• 📝 The Note Card: An essential tool for the Muted player. You can write a message of up to 6 lines on it.
  • By sneak right-clicking (Write): You write the message on the note, either by typing your message or using quick message shortcuts.
  • By right-clicking (Brandish): You raise your arms Sea of Thieves style to show the card to your teammates in front of you so they can read it (the text is displayed in 3D on the paper!). Quick predefined messages ("Yes", "No", "Help!", "RUN!") are available for fast writing.
  • 🎲 The Randomizer Bottle: A throwable bottle that, upon breaking, triggers a roulette animation (slot machine style) to randomly reassign the roles of all online players. It can be found in structure chests (dungeons, mineshafts, temples) or via bartering with Piglins.
  • 🧪 The Potion of Relief: Crafted manually (Water Bottle + Diamond + Lapis Lazuli). When thrown, it applies a vanilla status effect to players in the area, temporarily reducing the intensity of their handicaps by 75% (the blind player's fog recedes, the deaf/muted player's voice becomes more understandable, muffled sounds become clear again).
  • 🧭 The Teammate Tracker: A discreet compass display on the HUD that indicates the direction and distance of your allies (crucial for the Blind player who cannot see you, or to find a lost teammate).

🎙️ Simple Voice Chat Integration (Required!)

The mod features native compatibility with the Simple Voice Chat mod for absolute proximity voice immersion:

• Muted players have their microphones muted or heavily distorted (garbled/muffled) on the voice chat server.
• Deaf players hear their friends' voices heavily muffled by a realistic low-pass filter (as if they were behind a thick wall).

⚙️ Live Configuration (O Key)

No need to restart the server or edit complex configuration files! By pressing the O key in-game, any player can access a comprehensive settings menu with sliders to adjust in real-time:

• The cutoff frequency and volume of muffled voices.
• The fog distance for the Blind role.
• The cooldown and duration of the Megaphone.
• The spawn probability of Randomizer bottles in chests.

🎮 Admin Commands (OP)

Administrators (permission level 2) have powerful commands to manage the game:

• /bdm set <player> <blind|deaf|muted|none>: Instantly assigns a role or removes a player's handicap.
• /bdm random: Manually triggers the role reassignment roulette for everyone.
• /bdm randomizer: Gives 4 Randomizer bottles for testing.
• /bdm skin <on|off>: Shows or hides the 3D accessories on the players' models (cane, headphones, bandage).

📦 Installation

The mod comes as a single unified JAR file that is installed on both the server and each player's client.

For Players:

1. Install Fabric Loader for Minecraft 1.21.4.
2. Download and place into your mods/ folder:
   • Fabric API
   • Simple Voice Chat (highly recommended for proximity voice)
   • The Blind Deaf Muted JAR file (the version must match the server's).
