About
Description
Blood Moon transforms a familiar Minecraft night into a complete survival-horror event: the moon turns blood-red, the world becomes hostile, and five original animated blood creatures hunt players until sunrise.
WHAT THE PROJECT DOES
- Every Overworld sunset has a 50% chance to begin a Blood Moon.
- The moon changes to a custom blood-red appearance and warning messages announce the event.
- Nearby pathfinding mobs become hostile to Survival players, while owned pets remain protected.
- Automatic spawning for the five custom blood mobs occurs only during an active Blood Moon: Blood Thing, Blood Stalker, Blood Golem, Skin Walker, and The Doctor.
- All five blood mobs attack Survival players on sight.
- Each blood creature has a custom model, texture, and animations.
- The Doctor triggers a brief full-screen jumpscare and scream after landing a hit.
- Players can prepare with craftable Blood Blocks, a Blood Sword, an Iron Cross, a Punching Bag, and the glock_PARTY gun.
- The event is saved and synchronized in multiplayer and ends at sunrise.
WHAT IT IS ABOUT
Blood Moon turns the ancient idea of a red moon as a warning or bad omen into a playable Minecraft story. Players see the omen appear in the sky, realise the world has changed, prepare for an attack, and try to survive until morning.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL AND UNIQUE
1. It is a complete event, not simply a collection of unrelated mobs. The sky, spawning, aggression, combat, sound, warnings, crafting, and characters all support one central idea.
2. It changes a familiar part of Minecraft. Players already understand that night is dangerous, but a Blood Moon makes even an ordinary-looking world suddenly feel unpredictable and threatening.
3. The five enemies have original identities. The mallet-wielding Blood Golem has a distinctive silhouette, while The Doctor delivers a memorable jumpscare that players will immediately associate with the mod.
4. Its horror has gameplay consequences. The visual change in the sky is also a warning that hostile behaviour and special spawning rules have begun.
5. It remains fair and understandable. Each eligible 30-second player check has a 40% chance to attempt one blood-mob spawn, the five types are selected equally, tamed pets are protected, and the danger ends at sunrise.
6. It combines original Blockbench character work with GeckoLib animation, Java gameplay systems, multiplayer synchronisation, event persistence, combat, crafting, and custom presentation.
WHY WE CREATED IT
Minecraft nights can eventually become predictable. We wanted players to look at the sky again and wonder whether the next sunset would be safe. A Blood Moon is a simple idea that players understand immediately, but it creates room for suspense, preparation, surprise, and replayable survival stories.
