About

Description

Blunderbombs, in Minecraft!

Have your ever wanted to Blunderbomb your crewmates beyond the Shroud?

The Blunderbombs mod adds Sea-of-Thieves-inspired chaotic throwables to Minecraft. Upon hitting something, they emit a painful shockwave that sends nearby players and mobs flying!

A demo video is available on the Modrinth page, where it also available for download.

Description

The mod provides two craftable items: a "Blunderbomb" (painful shockwave) and "Blunderwhiff" (harmless shockwave). The knockback from both can be countered effectively with Blast Protection.

The Blunderbomb

A Blunderbomb deals 1-3 hearts of explosive damage to all nearby players and mobs, depending on how close they are to the blast. On a direct hit, up to 5 total hearts of damage will be dealt (the remainder is dealt as projectile damage).

A modest shockwave will also send players, mobs, and other entities flying! You may find some unexpected uses for this, perhaps?

The Blunderwhiff (Harmless Blunderbomb)

The Blunderwhiff deals no damage, but will still knock back entities with a modest shockwave. Unlike a Blunderbomb through, the knockback will not apply to the player that throws it.

On friendly community servers, you may wish to disable the Blunderbomb recipe and leave only Blunderwhiff as craftable — this is still plenty of fun, but remember fall damage still exists!

FAQ

Will you add Firebombs?

I'm undecided! Express your interest in this issue on GitHub if you'd like to see this, or join the Discord and let us know there!

Can I use this in my modpack?

Currently, no. However, open-source versions of this mod will be permitted in modpacks! This project aims to be open-sourced by the end of 2023.

Can you add Dispenser functionality for traps?

Absolutely! This is a planned feature for the open-source release by the end of 2023.

Can you backport to <Minecraft version>?

While I aim to support future Minecraft versions, it's hard to justify supporting much older ones. I can be convinced but there's no promises, sorry.

Disclaimers

This fan project was made with love by LoonieToque, but not in affiliation with Sea of Thieves, Rare Ltd., or Microsoft. The Sea of Thieves and Blunderbomb names belong to Rare Ltd.
